Description
Photo taken in February, 2016 @ Zoo Dierenrijk, The Netherlands
Funny story:
As all zoos who work on conservation and spreading the gene pool of threatened species, Dierenrijk was ecstatic to be able to announce that, 3 years after the first twins were born, Frimas had given birth to two cubs in November 2015.
After a few months, they were allowed outside, and were examined by a vet shortly after. They were pronounced two boys and a contest was issued to give them two names. Most popular were Nick & Simon, a duo of Dutch singers from up North.
Except... Visitors noticed that the two tricksters did not pee the way boys do Nor were then any visible dangling bits. (Having seen Pixel, their older brother stand up once, he was very noticeably a boy, and these two jokers have no shame in spreading out and showing their bellies).
A little while ago, the zoo keepers decided to have the cubs' fur tested (for DNA, I think) and guess what?
They're girls
So now, they're Nicky and Simone
