Goodbye, my dear friend

This is the Arctic Fox you've gotten known to be "Whitey" in my photos. He's originally from Diergaarde Blijdorp Rotterdam Zoo, from where he came to Dierenrijk together with the Arctic Fox I've called "Missy" in my photos.
Unfortunately, mid March an Arctic Fox was spotted in the centre of the town Best, and Dierenrijk announced this was the Arctic Fox that had escaped their zoo three weeks earlier. Since then, the Fox has been caught on camera - though still not reported caught - which leads to me thinking it was Missy who made a leap for freedom.
I suspect it wasn't just her who escaped, as it was an entirely other Arctic Fox I'd seen attempting to make a break for it, an individual who has gone missing from the enclosure as well.
Whitey has since been alone, and I have thought him to have gone away as well, but he reappeared up until June. Then, the enclosure was empty of all a sudden and a couple of days later a sign was posted the enclosure no longer held any animals...
So this is a "goodbye" to the Arctic Fox who never lost his white fur, who became so dear to me the few years I've had a chance to see him at this zoo. I do hope he has returned to his original zoo, and nothing worse has happened to him.
I shall miss him dearly.
