Description
Photo taken in December, 2014 @ Natura Artis Magistra, Royal Amsterdam Zoo, The Netherlands
If I identified this youngster correctly, it's a Frill-Necked Lizard. There were several "babies" in the zoo, though their birth wasn't as specifically mentioned as that of other special reptiles.
Species: Frill-Necked Lizard (Kraaghagedis)
Latin name: Chlamydosaurus Kingii
Originates from northern Australia and southern New Guinea.
Did you know:
…The Frill-Necked Lizard is also called “Frilled Dragon”.
… It is the only member of the genus Chlamydosaurus.
…The male Frilled Lizard is generally larger than the female, but otherwise they’re hard to tell apart as they have the same colors.
