Photo taken in January, 2012 @ Zoo Dierenrijk, The Netherlands
EDITED
I noticed another bout of overzealousness in first editing this photo, so I turned it around and made it a bit less noticeable.
The Arctic Fox looks so intense while looking at something in front of him, as if he's whetting his appetite.
When the Arctic Foxes in this zoo had been given a new habitat, they looked more inclined to attempt an escape to which there is enough chance and possibility to make them succeed...
And they did, never to be seen or heard from again.
Species: Arctic or Polar Fox (Poolvos)
Latin name: Vulpes Lagopus
Originates from the Northern Hemisphere.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…Arctic Foxes shed their white fur in Summertime, for a shorter, grey or brown fur coat.
…Their body is generally of a round shape, as to minimize the escape of body heat.
