Another photo of mother Serval grooming one of her kittens. I always love how the youngsters look anxious to get away from that fervent tongue of  hers

Originiates from Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

…DNA studies have shown that the Serval is closely related to the African Wild Cat, and the Caracal.

…Its long legs make it able for the Serval to achieve a top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph).

…The white spots on the back of the Serval’s ears are called “ocelli” and are used to signal kittens when hunting.
