Do  you recognize this little one? It's the brother to the earlier Owl pic I posted: a Morepork chick! God, they were so bad-tempered, and so adorable

Species: Morepork (Nieuw-Zeelandse Boeboekuil)

Latin name: Ninox Novaeseelandiae

Originates from: New Zealand, Tasmania, across most of mainland Australia, Timor and southern New Guinea.

Current status: Least Concern

…The bird is often called Tasmanian Spotted Owl, Mopoke, Southern Boobook, Ruru or even Masked Owl as well.

…The Morepork is the smallest owl in Australia, and is the continent’s most widely distributed and common owl.
