I have a lot of good memories attached to this zoo, but this visit proved to be a bit different.
This was actually the second Rufous-legged Owl that seemed intrigued by me. I don't know whether the bird had cruel intentions but it sure was creepy to find yourself the object of his sudden fascination.
He kept following me from the left to the right every time I walked past (which admittedly, you keep doing when you've noticed he'll move with you). He was bobbing his head to be able to look beneath and above the branch in front of him, always keeping his eye on me as he moved to and fro with every step I took.

Originates from Chile, west Argentina, Tierra della Fuego and the Falkland Islands.
Current status: Least Concern
