Your Own Special Way

Since our sister moved away from Amsterdam, we haven't visited this zoo - and our very favorite Fennec Foxes - as much as we used to.
M has loved these Foxes since first seeing one in a zoo when she was really young, and having been able to see two kits at this zoo was a dream come true.
Unfortunately, they can be found sleeping more often than they are found awake. So the visit before this one, we were unable to take any new, original photos.
This visit, we had real trouble with the lighting - it was turning out greenish every time, and had trouble getting the photos focused well. So not that many really good photos of out little friends.
Aside from this photo - a typical Fennec Fox shot where the ears are the biggest factor
It was close to lunch time for them, so they were eagerly awaiting the zoo keeper with their food

Species: Fennec Fox (Fennek vos of Woestijnvos)

Latin name: Vulpes Zerda

Originates from Northern Africa.

Current status: Least Concern

 Did you know: 

…The word “Fennec” is Arabic for Fox, so basically, we call him “Fox Fox”.

…Its large ears are its most distinct feature, and serve to dissipate heat.
